Founder Clarity Session

Need a clear answer on your next move?

A private 60-minute strategy session with Jason Kirby for founders deciding whether to raise, sell, recapitalize, or keep building.

Bring your deck, financials, current challenge, and objective. Jason will review the materials before the call, ask the clarifying questions that matter, and help you leave with a clear recommendation and next steps.

Compare with Capital Blueprint

If the answer is “don’t raise yet,” Jason will tell you that. If the answer is “you need a full process,” he’ll tell you that too.

This is usually the right session if you’re thinking…

  • I need to know if we're fundable right now.
  • We have buyer interest, but I don't know if it's real.
  • I'm not sure whether to raise, sell, recap, or wait.
  • I need someone outside the company to pressure-test the decision.
  • I don't need a full banking process yet — I need a clear answer.
  • My gut says something is off, but I can't tell if I'm overthinking it.

How the session works

01
Before the call

You submit:

  • Latest pitch deck
  • Trailing 12-month P&L
  • Recent balance sheet
  • Cash flow statement, if available
  • Current cap table, if relevant
  • Any live investor, lender, buyer, or strategic materials
  • The biggest challenge you're currently facing
  • Your North Star objective
  • The one question you want answered by the end of the session
02
During the call

Jason pressure-tests the situation, asks clarifying questions, and gives his direct read on the most realistic path forward.

The goal is not to leave with more options. The goal is to leave with fewer, better ones.

03
After the call

You receive a short written summary with:

  • Jason's read on the situation
  • The recommended next move
  • The biggest risk or constraint to solve
  • Specific next actions
  • What to stop wasting time on
  • If relevant, a list of investors, lenders, acquirers, or strategic targets to approach

This is not the right product if…

  • You need board-ready analysis and formal materials.
  • You have already raised $100M+ and need institutional governance support.
  • You need a full investor or buyer process run for you.
  • You want Thunder to execute the raise, sale, or recap from start to finish.
  • You are looking for generic startup advice without sharing real numbers.

For that, Thunder offers Capital Blueprint engagements starting at $30k.

Founder Clarity Session vs. Capital Blueprint

Founder Clarity Session
$1,995
  • One specific blocker or decision
  • Founder-led decision
  • Fast human judgment
  • Pre-call material review
  • 60-minute private session
  • Written next-step memo
  • Target list if relevant

Best when the founder needs clarity before deciding what to do next.

Capital Blueprint
Starts at $30k
  • Board or management-level decision
  • Formal strategic recommendation
  • Market research
  • Financial analysis
  • Investor / buyer / acquirer mapping
  • Collateral and narrative development
  • Board-ready materials

Best when the company needs to persuade stakeholders and prepare for execution.

A Founder Clarity Session is enough when you need Jason’s direct read on a specific decision. A Capital Blueprint is the next step when the decision needs to be supported by market research, investor or buyer mapping, financial analysis, collateral, and board or management buy-in. The session is where founders get unstuck. The Blueprint is where companies prepare to act.

Clarity sometimes means not taking the obvious path.

Founders who came in with one plan and left with a better one.

Exit & strategic alternativesAdvised against a sale
My investors brought Jason in to sell us to get their money back. But when I met with Jason, he saw the real potential in my business was still to come and suggested a Growth Buyout Strategy. His insights and guidance in communicating with my board were game-changing.

Simple guarantee

If you do not leave the call with a clearer next move, email us within 48 hours and we’ll refund the session.

Availability

Jason only takes a small number of these each month because each session requires pre-call review and post-call follow-up.

Questions

What do I get for $1,995?+

Pre-call review of your materials, a private 60-minute session with Jason, and a short written memo afterward with his read, the recommended next move, the constraint to solve, and specific next actions.

Do I have to send financials?+

Yes. The session only works if Jason can see the real numbers before the call. Without materials there's nothing to pressure-test, and the conversation defaults to generic advice.

What if the answer is 'don't raise'?+

Then that's the answer you'll get. Jason has talked founders out of raises and out of sales when the timing was wrong. The point is the right decision, not a transaction.

How is this different from a Capital Blueprint?+

The session is Jason's direct read on one decision. A Blueprint is a full engagement with market research, investor or buyer mapping, financial analysis, and board-ready materials. Blueprints start at $30k.

What's the refund policy?+

If you do not leave the call with a clearer next move, email us within 48 hours and we'll refund the session.

Can I reschedule?+

Yes, anytime through the link you receive after booking. Materials are due 48 hours before the call so the pre-read can happen.

Start your session

Two minutes of intake so Jason can prepare, then payment ($1,995). You’ll pick your time immediately after.

  1. 1Tell us the decision you're weighing
  2. 2Pay $1,995 securely
  3. 3Choose your time on Jason's calendar

Get the decision out of your head and onto paper.

If you’re circling the same raise, sale, recap, or strategic decision, bring the materials and Jason will help you pressure-test the path forward.
